Equipping The 70 Seminars Conference

The Equipping The 70 Seminars Conference is a concentrated, weekend seminar series designed to equip all Christian men in three specific disciplines: sharing your faith, defending your faith, and discipling. With these vital ministry tools, Christian men will be ready to go into the mission field of Southwest Florida with confidence and competence to disciple new men of faith.

Equipping The 70 Seminars is an ecumenical initiative established in October 2004, from a challenge presented by the men's ministry leadership of the Episcopal Diocese of Southwest Florida. “The 70” Seminars are designed to equip Christian men to live into the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19). Between October 4, 2004 and May 20, 2006, 78 men representing fourteen denominations and fellowships were equipped to go out into the mission field of Southwest Florida to disciple 1,000 new men of faith.

34 additional men representing twenty churches completed their training at the 2008 Equipping The 70 Seminars Conference. These men were added to “The 70” Team and sent out 2 by 2 to disciple men in their communities.

The seminars are conducted by nationally or regionally recognized, highly respected teachers, and offered in an annual weekend conference at DaySpring Conference Center in Ellenton, Florida. The conference includes time for fellowship, small group formation and post-conference follow-up, an ecumenical worship service, and DaySpring’s famous hospitality and peaceful setting on the Manatee River.
